International CME workshop: Facial plastic and aesthetic surgery

A workshop for continuing medical education

With rapid advances in science, technology and new treatment methods, improving the quality of healthcare services—especially in plastic surgery—is essential. This was the reason Cho Ray Hospital held the International Seminar on Continuing Medical Education: Facial Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery from November 4 to 7, 2024.

At the opening, Dr. Pham Thanh Viet, Deputy Director of Cho Ray Hospital, expressed the hope that the participation of domestic and international specialists would create a forum for exchange and updated knowledge and techniques, helping participants follow global developments, strengthen professional skills and better meet clients' expectations.

The four-day workshop focused on four major themes and featured 26 in-depth presentations delivered and guided by Vietnamese specialists and international speakers from the Hodges medical delegation of the United States.

November 4, 2024: “Minimally invasive facial rejuvenation surgery”.

November 5, 2024: “Basic and advanced rhinoplasty”.

November 6, 2024: “Facial rejuvenation surgery”.

November 7, 2024: “Aesthetic surgery of the eyes, chin and other topics”.

• November 4: facial skin rejuvenation with fillers; RF Lipo – contouring of the Face & Neck; botox injection; point-thread lifting; blindness after filler injection and other filler complications.
• November 5: applied anatomy for nasal tip shaping and osteotomy; septal and deviated-nose correction; short-nose correction; rib-cartilage rhinoplasty; revision after dorsal implantation; alar and nasal-base correction; revision rhinoplasty; and rhinoplasty using diced cartilage wrapped in fascia.
• November 6: facial-layer anatomy; SMAS plication facelift; deep-plane facelift; forehead lift; complications and prevention in facelift surgery; and facial fat grafting for rejuvenation.
• November 7: ear reconstruction; lower-eyelid rejuvenation; midface rejuvenation; nasal reconstruction using artificial materials; upper-eyelid rejuvenation; and reconstruction of facial defects.
